#SelfLoveInSchools

Life would be nearly (if not) PERFECT if self love was taught in school. I believe self love should be the foundation of each and EVERY school curriculum. It should really start in the home- before school. However, it should be reinforced in school.

The school systems should teach us to EMBRACE our differences… instead of making them the root of self-hatred (and bullying). We begin to compare ourselves to others when we enter school and form our social circles.

This is where we learn how to “fit in a box” instead of STANDING OUT. Standing out is a beautiful thing and it allows us to follow ourselves… instead of the crowd. We often make ourselves miserable as we attempt to keep up with the latest trends- knowing deep down it is not WHO WE ARE.

The media does a great job of “telling” us what SELLS. Think about it… When was the last time you did something because it looked “cool” on social media? Let’s flip it… When was the last time you WANTED to do something, but didn’t because you thought social media wouldn’t accept it or YOU?!? The media has an agenda to push…and we play a role as we fit into their imaginary boxes.

We have to get to a place where we get to know ourselves. What we like and dislike… Our passions… OUR dreams… not what family or the media pressures us into. I’m not saying it is going to be easy, BUT it will be worth it! To breed a generation who values self-love💖 THAT is how we change the 🌍✨
